Touch~ 2005

I was going to find a brief summary at jdorama.com, but I couldn't find one~ so I guess I'm going to have to attempt at explaining the storyline with my 'wonderful' communication skills *blink blink*

ok~ michelle-welly summaries are going to have spoilers~

The story starts off with Minami (Masami Nagasawa) and a pair of twins Kazuya (*since they really are twins, I'm assuming that the little brother in the movie is really the little brother in real life* Keita Saito) and Tazuya (?) (Shota Saito) being neighbours and growing up together~

all three are very fond of baseball but as they grow up, shota (the older brother~) gives it up to avoid competition with his brother and takes up boxing instead. But he sucks at it. Keita becomes a school legend with his skills while shota sits back and watches on. In between all this also threads a little love triangle between the twins and minami. Both are competing for her, but minami seems to likes shota since she kissed him but refused to kiss keita.

Here comes the spoilers~ *dramatic music* keita suddenly dies from saving a kid from a truck (..now why is it always saving kids from speeding cars? what's with that plot? XD) anywayz, so keita passes away and shota is left alone.

Shota is asked to join the baseball team that keita was in and he agrees. I thought this was really sad...everyone discourages him from playing baseball because either they think that he can never replace his brother's position, or that he's trying to live his brother's dream etc. Even shota's own mother discourages him, thinking that he's just trying to fullfill keita's dream (hello~? although that may be true, but shota loved baseball as much as his twin did..he just gave up, that's all...) The baseball team refuses to practise with him because they think that he will never be as good as keita (that is so mean~! he lost his twin brother and you guys are still giving him a hard time..bunch of meanies...)~ Even shota, himself, gives up for a while, but minami encourages him to continue...

So, in the end, he's in a competition and he's trying to help the team win for the sake of keita~ there were parts that were wth? like when he strikes a dude out at one point, everyone actually thinks suddenly 'kazuya~?' wth?? what happened to individuality here~?! that was shota that pitched the strikes! shota shota shota!!

Anywayz, shota's the pitcher, so, not sure what that's called but, he strikes out the best batter on the other team and the win~~ yay~ and he gets the girl too~

================================
So overall~ michelle really like this movie~ it's really sad for keita to die, and it's so sad to have shota live under the shadow of his litle brother~~ but i still recommend it~ cuz it's touching~ (maybe that's why it's called touch? or not..is it just the title of the manga? *shrugz*

michelle's rating: 8/10
